My shredded lifestyle – Book review

Not too long ago I received my pre-ordered copy of the book MyShredded lifestyle, written by Merijn Schoeber.

Merijn, maybe better known as StudentAesthetics wrote his first book and it is all about fitness and nutrition.

The book

The book is all about how you can incorporate fitness and good nutrition into your busy lifestyle. He preaches IIFYM and tells you exactly how to set this up for yourself in detail.

IIFYM, or If it fits your macros is a dieting approach that makes dieting a lot more sustainable. Since it allows you to eat anything you like (in moderation).

At the end of the book, there is an entire plan that you can follow to achieve the goals that you have in mind.

I absolutely loved this book, it’s easily written, no bullshit and you can really notice that he is sincere in wanting you to become the best version of yourself.

The book is great for absolute beginners to fitness and nutrition, but also for people who have been doing this for a while!

He gets into topics like Intermittent fasting, hormonal changes, your metabolism, and insulin sensitivity.

Because Merijn is a fitness enthusiast himself he understands how hard and important it is to maintain muscle while losing fat.

The book also contains a full explanation of how to do this and how he does this. Because no one wants to throw away all the progress they’ve made. 

What is in the book?

The book starts with the absolute basics of nutrition and slowly builds up to the more advanced knowledge. With assignments that are in the book, you can take the theory you just learned and actually practice it in the real world.

The book contains not only theory about nutrition but also: a lot of recipes, training schedules, before and after pictures of his clients, nutrition plans for males and females, information about refeeding days and a lot of online tools that will help you.

You notice the passion and the amount of effort Merijn has put into this book. There is no topic that he left out. It is a great book if you are an absolute beginner and want to start with the basics, but also informational when you’re a bit more advanced.



The author

Merijn Schoeber, better known as StudentAesthetics is a fitness and lifestyle YouTuber with an impressive following of 130 thousand followers.

I may be a bit biased in towards this book. Because the reason I got into fitness was his Youtube channel.

The way he explained IIFYM and focuses on a lifestyle that is sustainable. Really got me thinking. This made me change my life. A few years later, I am helping people do the same thing. 

After six years of trying out different ways of dieting, Merijn has found that there is a way that can easily work for most people.

This lifestyle of IIFYM (sometimes with intermittent fasting), has been perfected over the past few years. He named it MyShredded lifestyle. This method is something he preaches and uses himself.
